In the spring of 1972, a group of demolition contractors met in Hollywood, Florida to address the challenges they faced in a highly competitive industry. Recognizing the benefits of banding together, they established the National Association of Demolition Contractors (now the National Demolition Association) in November 1973. The association published the first issue of Demolition Age magazine in the following year and held its inaugural Annual Convention & Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1974. As the association approaches its Golden Anniversary, it will celebrate its 50-year history at the 2024 Annual Convention & Expo in San Antonio, Texas from March 6-9.
